The Moon

A Guide in the Darkness

In the dark, cold and gloom of night, I set out to find my way home,

home to the safety of family and friends, home to the love I once knew.

I stumbled. I fell. The alluring bogs of life enveloped me in rancid mist. I was lost.

In despair, I reached to Heaven and cried,

“I’ve lost my way! I’m badly injured! I can’t go on! Oh God, where are you?”

I looked up and I saw the moon. I saw the moon. I am home.

Lord Jesus, I thank you that you are the guiding light in the darkness of life. You bring us home to the love and warmth of your presence. You are Lord. You are light. You are life. You are God!

Psalm 136:7-9

“To Him who made the great lights, For His lovingkindness is everlasting: the sun to rule by day, for His lovingkindness is everlasting, the moon and stars to rule by night, for His lovingkindness is everlasting.”
